Hyperliquid trader types: consistent, grower, sniper, rising and more

Updated 26 Oct 2026

Every ranked trader on JoinEm gets a type, a holding horizon, a market focus and a size class, all computed from their public record. Here is what each means.

Types

TypeRule (last 90 days)
ConsistentWins 55%+ of trades, profit factor 1.5+, perp trading never more than 20% below its high, 20+ trades
GrowerPerp trading returned 100%+ in 90 days, or 200%+ all-time, deposits left out
SniperTwo trades a week or fewer, averaging 3%+ profit each
RisingPerp trading returned 50%+ in the last 30, 14 or 7 days
WhaleAccount of $500k or more
ActiveCopyable, but none of the above
LuckyMost of the profit came from one or two trades, or too few trades to judge. Not ranked

A trader who fits more than one type gets the first in the order Consistent, Grower, Sniper, Rising.

Holding horizon

By average hold: scalper (under an hour), day (1–24 hours), swing (1–7 days) and position (more than a week). Slower traders are easier to copy, because a late entry costs less.

Market focus

Majors (60%+ of trades in BTC, ETH and SOL), alts (60%+ in other coins), stocks and commodities (half or more in HIP-3 markets) and mixed.

Who never appears

Market makers and high-frequency bots (hundreds of fills a day, or mostly maker orders) can't be copied, so they're left out. So are wallets whose perp trading is down over 90 days.
